I first want to apologize if there is already a thread for making requests. I wasn't able to find out with search parameters: Feature Request.
I was wondering if it is possible to add a time delay tweak to how long the Time of Day clock and Ends At clock remain onscreen?
Umm... Currently the display of the clock/end time is directly linked to the display of the transport controls, it's shown when transport controls are shown, and hidden when the transport controls are hidden. I suppose we could show the clocks when the transport controls are shown and then use a timer to decide when to hide them again, that timer could then be set to any value in the settings. Sounds like a nice little project for me over the weekend :) What sort of time delay length do you need?
I just don't get why Geoff wants it. You need to know the time: you have to press UP/DOWN. There is an iOS internal timer that closes the "transport controls" again...which in turn bring down our clock display. Why would you need the time to stay up longer?

Thanks roidy, if it isn't an annoying project I would really look forward to having that option. I would really just love to see the time that I am starting up something and the time it is going to end be about 1-2 seconds longer. It just seems to blink out of existence quicker than I can register.

I probably should have asked that before... :-D
Hey Baa,
Thanks for taking an interest in this request, I really appreciate it. You are 100% right, if I pushed up it would reappear, and it is my habit of pressing play and then setting the remote down that is creating this request for the feature in the first place. I don't have a clock in the livingroom, and so this clock on screen (now that it exists) has become that much more important. If the option was there to delay the disappearance of the clocks it would mean that I wouldn't have to reach for the remote and hit up again just to see it.
Ok, double checked. When starting a movie it is more like 3-4sec... but once you bring it up again with UP/DOWN it's about 10sec.
I find it strange that Apple uses different times there...
The initial 10sec where timed using aTV2/VNC. Seems that this acts differently as well.
Where is the consistency?
That is a really good point, I am surprised that there would be such a spectrum of delays on those displayed clocks. Thank you BTW for taking the time to check that, I wouldn't have been home for another 3ish hours to check.

Not sure where you're getting 10 seconds from... These are the timings I get:-
Initial start of movie - 3 secs
Press up to display transport controls - 3 secs
Press up twice to display summary box - 30 secs
Press down to display chapter markers - 15 secs
So really if people need the clock on screen longer they could just use down on the remote , can't see anyone needing more than 15 seconds to read the time :)
