Samsung Smart TV’s (Tizen) - (but relevant to all players)
TLDR: Pressing back from home screen should take you to profile screen not exit menu.
my request is something that really drives me crazy, myself and gf use seperate profiles, we like different things.
On the samsung TV switching profiles is always odd. you open the app and it brings up the profile selection, choose the gf and watch a show, now i come along and i naturally press back to exit the show screen, now i’m at the home screen, i press back to get teh side bar up and i press back to get to the profiles…if feels natural to do this because when i enter the app i get profiles first, but it doesnt work because its not in the design. Sadly i still do this after two years of using plex app, its just ‘intuative’ to try this.
I know that i have to press UP, UP, Enter, Enter to get from Home to profiles, but why is it not just ‘back’ from the home screen.
At present the back from the home screen takes you to the exit menu
So yeah, thats my thoughts, and reason, I feel UI design should always be ‘intuative’ you shouldnt need to look for how to do something it shoudl come naturally!
