I want to request the ability to scroll further down the current play queue, and be able to view the entire queue, when it has a finite length (i.e. not a radio for obvious reasons).
I sometimes like to listen to soundtracks before sleeping at night. Sometimes I fall asleep before the current queue ends. Unfortunately for me some soundtracks can have rather loud tracks at the end of the album. End credit songs for example, so I’ve had the pleasure of being woken up by some loud track every now and then.
In the past I’ve solved this by just moving the loud track up to the top to make sure it plays before I fall asleep, but this is rather hard to do with Plexamp, as the list of upcoming tracks are rather short. I’ve noticed that the taller i make the window the longer the visible queue becomes. This seem to me like a bit weird limitation.
Therefore I request the ability to view the entire queue when it consists of a finite amount of tracks regardless of window height. Or at least make it scroll a bit further than right now. I am aware this is a very niche scenario… but I can scroll through 3000 albums and almost 40000 tracks in the library view, but only a few tracks of the current queue…
I would second this request. If there is some sort of technical limitation to showing the entire queue it would still be nice to have it capped at a higher number.
I don’t think it’s a niche request in itself. Some reasons for wanting it might be a little more niche than others but there are plenty of use cases for this.
It’s a sort of solution, but more of a workaround than a proper solution, as I have to look at the length of the album and then subtract the length of the track(s) I want it to stop before. And it doesn’t work if there is a “loud” track closer to the middle of the queue as well not just at the end (for example an insert song).
The short summary is I want better access to reordering the play queue manually if I want to for whatever reason.
we’ll almost certainly allow access to more of the PQ there. it’s challenging in the way that it’s built b/c if you grew it infinitely downwards you’d have trouble scrolling back up and it might feel weird. so at the very least you could allow navigating away to a fuller view of the PQ with past, present and future.
You could solve that with a “go to top” button than only shows up in the top of the window when you’ve scrolled more than say… 50 entries down or something.
Or just cap it at some point that is “far enough”. I don’t think manual management of the play queue makes that much sense when used for queues longer than one or two queued albums at most.
used plexamp for a longer listening session yesterday for the first time and immediatly missed access to my whole listening queue.
I like the way you can swipe up and down to see “current playing”/“up next” but I think there should be at least a button which brings you to the full queue.
