[Request] Save and make editable video and audio playback preferences on a per file/series basis, li

Hello,

I hope this isn't an already suggested feature. I did several searches and found nothing really addressing this specifically.

Plex should preserve “fundamental” playback options like Aspect Ratio, Audio/Subtitle Offset, Deinterlacing, and Non-Linear Stretching server-side. When these options are changed it should remember the settings for the individual file. As it works currently, features like "Resume" aren't really functioning properly without preserving the various custom video and audio settings applied during the previous viewing.

It follows that all episodes within a TV series could be similar in format for audio and video. Ideally, some of these fundamental playback options would be editable/savable by series/season while still allowing for individual file tweaking.

e.g. Anyone watching a series of videos sharing the same format must tweak things like Viewing Mode, Non-Linear Stretching and Deinterlacing every time they resume the series. Depending on the number of episodes in the series, that amount of input could quickly become the user making hundreds of adjustments to video/audio playback options.

It seems like fundamental playback preferences should be editable and preservable. Perhaps even across devices. Choices like Aspect Ratio and Non-Linear Stretching can likely apply to entire series and would benefit greatly being editable as such.

I would imagine these preferences could be edited from the Media Manager using UI similar to what’s being used to edit meta data now. A cursory look over the video/audio settings available during playback would seem to lump everything into two buckets, file specific preferences and device specific preferences. Ideally a change implemented would allow these options to be preserved for subsequent playbacks.

Let me know if I managed to botch the request and/or there are any questions. Thanks.
