Because of reasons my TV hangs rather high. When watching a movie most of the time there are black bars above and below the movie since the tv is 16:9 and movies often are ~21:9. It would be great for my neck if the movie could be aligned to the bottom of the screen eliminating the bottom black bar and doubling the top one.
I could imagine that this would make things also easier for people with maskable projector screens.
How would this work? When I shift the image by X pixels I wouldn’t be able to see the navigation elements anymore. It’s a feature the player has to implement. Players like VLC implement useful features like this along with aspect ratio selection or crop.
Depends on what tv you’re using. Usually models that allow to shift the vertical position will do so without moving their on-screen menu outside the actual screen.
