Often at work someone may give me a video or something that I want to save to myplex but don't always have a HDD with me to take it home. It would be great if you could upload a video/music/picture to plex via plexweb, which would be then scanned into your library.
This would be great for photo's. no use to ftp when im not at home would be great!
I do not see me uploading videos via a web interface. But like Kevin says, this would be a really great feature for pictures. Really like the idea Reven!
Why not just install something like Tonido on your media server. Then you have a web browser based platform that will allow you to access your media library. You can u/l, d/l etc this way. They also have a utility similar to dropbox that allows you to mount a "drive letter", etc...
You can also setup TeamView or other similar apps to get remote control of your home plex server. With TeamView you can also upload files.
These are two easy solutions that can be installed on a windows box and get access just about anywhere. You can find similar apps for Linux and Mac too.
right, cayars. TeamViewer could do the job on Linux/Mac/Windows. For Linux, anyway, i think Ajaxplorer is the best choice.
I would be happy with adding such a facility for uploads but must be optional - set to ON/OFF within settings - preferably set at a Library Section level. PMS only has READ ACCESS to my Media Files stored a network share.
sure theres other software you could install, but I would prefer it inside plex where I didnt need to use anything else, and that way it instantly scanned and put into the right folder(s).
reven, Plex check constantly the size of the Folders you have added to Plex. If there is any change, Plex will scann this folder.
