If i have a computer (i5, 8gb RAM) running the plex server, does i need a NAS with high performance cpu and memory or it’s the computer that will be run for playing 4k?

one of the forums most popular threads is Plex, 4k, transcoding, and you - aka the rules of 4k, a good read for people like you curious about 4K.
tl,dr: 4K works but only if the codecs are supported by all of your clients (=> Direct Play).
