[Resolved] Nvidia not found in Linux Mint 21

Server Version#: 1.28.0.5999-97678ded3
Player Version#: 1.50.1.3176-06a9352d

I recently installed Linux Mint 21 on my Plex server PC. The PC has an Intel i7-8700K processor and an Nvidia GTX 1060 Mini 6GB graphics card. Previously, I had Linux Mint 20.3 installed and Plex Media Server was able to detect both the Intel i915 and Nvidia hardware. However, with Linux Mint 21, Plex Media Server can see the i915 hardware but not the Nvidia hardware.

I initially installed the Nvidia 515.65 driver, but I found the system was unable to load that Nvidia driver due to a crash. I have rolled back to the Nvidia 470 driver and it seems to be loading without a problem. However, Plex Media Server still says it cannot find the Nvidia hardware.

I’ve also seen that there is a version 510 of the Nvidia driver available via the Driver Manager software in Linux Mint. I’m wondering if I should try that one?

EDIT: On August 18 (2022), I updated to Plex Media Server 1.28.1.6092, and now it detects the Nvidia hardware. I didn’t see anything in the changelog that I thought would resolve that, but I’m happy it’s able to discover the Nvidia hardware now. 1.28.1.6104 came out soon afterward, and that version is seeing the Nvidia hardware as well.
