I have a ‘custom video’ library set up with home videos. In that, I want to share one item with a user. When I go edit that item, I can set a specific tag for this user. Then, I go to the user in the Settings, edit him, enable my ‘Homevideos’ library, but I can’t seem to set tags for that library, right? I only can set tag restrictions for MOVIES / TV / ALBUMS?
Anyone any ideas?
Any Plex support maybe?
To clarify more: I want to give a user access to my ‘custom videos’ library, but in the User-edit dialog I can only set restrictions for TV / MOVIE / MUSIC:
Set a label not a tag on that one movie. Then in the dialog above where it says Labels just input the name of the label you created.
Hmm, just double checked this and the LABEL field isn’t appearing for me in Home Movies nor in TV Shows but does appear in Movies. This might be a bug.

I may have mixed up labels/tags, but I meant the same ![]()
As seen in my screenshots above, the dialog windows only lets me set labels/tags for:
- Films
- TV Series
- Albums
I have other libraries set up, but these are NOT visible in that dialog box, so there seems to be no way that I can use the restrict option for any other library then these three shown there? What am I missing here? ![]()
I believe your home movies might be considered TV Series as far as that is concerned. You would have to test this. Of course this would cause a problem if it does work that way because if you only “tag” a series in home videos then that person won’t get any true TV Series unless you tag every show.
Either way it’s lacking in functionality.
Bump.
Is it possible to restrict access to a PHOTOS LIBRARY based on tags? As @cayars mentions, ‘OTHER VIDEOS’-type libraries are considered as TV SHOW-type library, but what about PHOTO-type libraries?
The problem is that on the Restrictions page you can only restrict Movies, TV Shows and Albums (music).

Yep, guess this is not possible for any other type of content then? Wow…
