My 2 year old is massively frustrated. As much as the new iOS app is beautiful and feature rich it is too hard for him. He had quite literally mastered the old version. Is there any way I can get hold of the old IPA to push it to his iPad (really my iPad, although i see little of it these days!).
I do not think it is possible
Hi
I have a suggestion that may help
Not done this recently, but remember it working in the past.
If you updated iOS apps using a computer, not just on the device, then you may be able to find previous version of the IPA file…
On the Mac / PC that you download updates on, it puts the old version in the Trash / Recycle Bin when replacing with a new downloaded version
So have a look in there
For example “Plex 3.5.2.ipa”
If you find it, then follow these steps
Delete current app from iPad device
Remove and delete Plex app from iTunes Mobile Apps folder
Quit iTunes
Copy the Plex IPA to the folder \Mobile Applications (where all the others are)
Open iTunes
Open the Mobile Apps folder again
Probably won’t show Plex again immediately, so drag and drop the app from Finder / Explorer window onto iTunes. This is to ‘import’ the existing downloaded app back to iTunes
Can now look at the info and see the app version, store account used to purchase - as will need this iTunes to be authorized for that account
Now sync the app to your iPad
You will also need to turn off Automatic Download of App Updates - in Settings - iTunes & App Stores - [A] Updates - toggle it off
(You will need to open app store and manually update all other apps on your iPad)
Hope it works out for you
Cheers
Ryan
