Roku gives Playback error for many files

A couple months ago I updated my server like I always do when there is an update available and ever since I have been running into a playback issue on many files, but there doesn’t seem to be much rhyme or reason as to which or why. The error is always as follows:

Playback Error
Playback has stopped due to multiple playback errors. Please check your connection and try again.

It is happening on both of the Roku Ultras that I have, but I can play the media fine on my computers or iOS devices. The player will get to either 13% or 33% and repeat that number a few times before displaying the failure. I’ve looked through some other older fixes on the forum and had no luck, though that very well may just be my fault. Any help is appreciated!

Server Version#: 1.22.3.4523
Player Version#: 6.7 Build 24 on a Roku Ultra 4660X

Hello !
Same kind of error here (but Android TV) : An error occured when trying to play movies that was OK previously

Hey!
Thanks, I was looking through your thread but it didn’t seem to fix my issue. Same problem though! Media that used to play fine doesn’t now.

After some more messing around with settings I was able to figure it out. From the thread jomofcw shared I got to messing with the transcoder settings. I guess I had the “Maximum Simultaneous Video Transcode” set to 10, well I changed it to Unlimited now and it seems to have solved the issue. I thought each stream was an individual file being watched but I am guessing now that each media file can take several streams in order to transcode? Regardless, it has solved my issue.

That’s what I always though it meant… I’d love to see a developer chime in an clarify.
