Just got Plex added as part of my automation workflow and it is amazing. I’ve got a RSS feed setup to pull contents for my family, and Plex monitoring the directory for new contents, which will then surface itself on Plex once it is completed. Now, to make this even more awesome, I’d love to have a RSS feed setup such that when new contents are added to Plex library, so we can all setup IFTTT to monitor and send us a push notification for things we want to watch. Supposedly, there’s a http://IP:32400/library/sections/1/recentlyAdded URL I could visit which was suppose to give me something to work with, but all I get is 401 Unauthorized. How’d I come about setting up the authorization, so that I can hack something together there?
Most of the URLs now require you add your X-Plex-token 
PMS’s new security (as of about 0.9.16.5) is by user request.

IFTTT is the same end game I’m hoping for; not quite there yet, though!
This link: http://IP:port/library/sections/<library-id>/recentlyAdded?X-Plex-Container-Size=10&X-Plex-Token=<your-token> gives you an XML feed of new items, but it is a RSS or ATOM feed; so IFTTT won’t work.
I’m working slowly in my spare time on a small PHP app that will parse that and build a RSS feed for IFTTT, but I don’t expect that to be completed for another while (Plex is a double edged blade… On one hand it is awesome, on the other, it is sapping my productivity 
).
I’ll release it when the entire work flow is ready for sure.
