Running PlexConnect on MacBook with Internet Sharing ON

I travel without a wifi hotspot.  I use my MacBook to share hardwired internet out over my own Wifi.

AppleTV connects to shared wifi just fine.

Could not get PlexConnect.py to run at all.... until.

I ran sudo lsof  -i :53

output:

COMMAND   PID           USER

mDNSRespo  55 _mdnsresponder......

 

so, ran sudo kill 55

 

started up PlexConnect.py and everything is just peachy now... Except all the thumbnails are blank.

The shows all work, movies work, updating library works.  Just every place there should be artwork is blank.

 

Ideas?  Suggestions?

Oh and before someone suggests just buying a hotspot.  It's about traveling light.  I only travel with what I need to...  I have been debating not even traveling with the appleTV but for some reason I can't make myself do it yet.  If I plug the HDMI directly into the hotel TV I lose the ability to control the tv volume and appleTV with a single device/app...

what about using your iPhone (if you have one) as the hotspot?
