I just can't get this App 2 work with my Apple tv 3

I first followed the procedure from this youtube vid ( Did everything exactly like in this vid... also got the python installed ... )

That did not work for me 

 

Then I found this vid

Same thing did not work 

 

Then i followed the procedure on the github site...

I put the certificate on my apple tv correct like how they say i got to do this... 

 

got the app on my mac pro library fixed etc... 

 

Still does not work. 

 

I've been trying for hours now 

 

I did not do anything wrong and used all the correct files 

 

also my Ip adress is correct in the dns server on my apple tv 

 

whenever i go to the trailers icon app it just shows up like how it actually is 

 

i restarted my computer i restarted my apple tv ( dns stays ) ip stays 

 

I even Ran Plexconnect as deamon

 

When i put my ip adress and have wifi as connection when i then press the trailers icon it says searching for trailers -> trailers in unavailable try again later

 

dunno what else i can do Help me out please... 

 

ps: ( my apple tv is the latest update, also the python i use is the 2.7 and my mac pro is on mavericks no airplay is on etc...  tried it with wifi tried it with an ethernet cable )

if you have pms running on computer and trailers is as it would be then id say its dns address

All the details as requested in the "Read before Posting" pinned thread specifically the how to report a problem section.  WIthout this informaiton, how can anyone guess what is happening?

this means something is already using port 53 on you machine.  First step will be a reboot to make sure its not a incorrectly shutdown plexconnect and if you get the same error then you will need to find out what is using port 53. 

But again the more information you provide (by following the how to report an issue template in the suggested pinned thread), will allow us to identify your issue quicker, rather than pulling teeth to get the information, its best you provide it all at the start as the thread suggests.

I give up... i'll just stick to beamer and airparrot :) So much hassle and it's impossible 

I read all threads that had anything to do with port 53 tried out everything 

It's 2 much of a workaround

And now? What's sitting on :53?

there goes the dummy out the pram. id be the first to agree that sometimes it may be a little tricky for first time but once its setup its faultless and works like a dream.

I just can't find what's on port 53 i even tried to install Server 2 help me out but nothing specifically shows me what's on port 53

On your command line search for it
 
sudo lsof -i -P
The procedure is simple:
 
- unzip 
- generate certs 
- start plexconnect
- change dns on atv (point to host-ip of plexconnect)
- install cert on atv via menu
 
The output of PlexConnect can be seen on your console.
Now if it doesn't work it is usually a certificate, port 53/80 or firewall issue so you have to figure out first what is running/blocking stuff.

If i do that my apple tv wont be connected to the internet I use a cable...

Usually routers provide internet to multiple devices either through hard wired ethernet connection ports located on the back or via wireless.  Not certain why you have internet sharing turned on????

Turning off the internet sharing now i got acces 2 my library on my apple tv 

another thing i wonderd was 

I made a library list called movies but most of my anime is in there... 

now i order it by map and my grid is posters there's like the maps with a grey map icon in it... 

Is it possible 2 change that icon to a jpg inside of the map ? 

Also it's probably not possible 2 play dvd's ?
