Sample Rate Switching - not working in 4.6.1?

Hi

My setup - Plex server (version 1.30.0.6442) on a Windows 10 playing to Plexamp (4.6.1) on the same machine and also to a Raspberry Pi or two.

Issue - I’ve noticed all audio files playing at 44.1 regardless of native sample rates - and this is indicated on my Topping USB DAC. I would normally set sample rate ‘strict’ under audio output in the ‘Playback’ settings for whatever output device(s), but this option seems to no longer be present in Plexamp 4.6.1. Has it been (re)moved by any chance?

I did notice the same issue recreated when playing the same audio files in the main Plex web app. If I switch to a different app (in my case Audirvana), the sample rate display switches on my DAC and the software indicates that it is also playing the native sample rates. Very Curious.

I’m wondering if a) this is maybe 4.6.1 related, b) if it’s otherwise a global Plex setting I’ve not seen, or c) a big conspiracy to convince us we can’t hear the difference between 44.1 and higher sample rates??

Any help appreciated - I didn’t attach the logs yet in case it’s a known thing. Thanks!

sample rate switching is not supported on the Plexamp app for windows … whatever sample rate is set in windows audio settings, that’s what will be used for Plexamp playback on windows (not new for 4.6.1, has always been that way)

for playback on a headless Pi, I just checked, sample rate switching is still working as expected on Plexamp 4.6.1

note that Plexamp playback settings on the windows app only apply to playback on that windows system … to view and change Plexamp playback settings for the headless Pi, go to pi-hostname:32500 in a web browser
