New version. Cannot find “folder view”. Has this been removed???
I’m not familiar with the Samsung version of Plex.
If it’s in line with the other client apps you might want to look at what aspect of the library is displayed. “Folder view” is not an actual view… it’s one of those “aspects”.
- Views define “how” the library is displayed (e.g. as a grid/poster wall, summary or list)
- “Aspects” define what is being displayed…
- for movies you can pick either
Movies
orFolders
- for tv-shows you can pick either
Shows
,Seasons
,Episodes
orFolders
- for music you can pick either
Artists
,Albums
,Tracks
orFolders
- for movies you can pick either
From the support article Navigating the Big Screen Apps:
My interface is totally different. But the old version looked like the one you are showing me.
It might look a bit different but your library tab should still show the usual library controls. By default they should show at the top of your library as All Movies By Title
, where
-
All
indicates the library is currently not filtered; by clicking it, you can select a filter -
Movies
shows what type / aspect of the library is displayed; clicking it should bring up a selection where you can pick Folders — this might look a bit different but the functionality itself should be there -
By Title
indicates the current sort order used to display the items of your library
If I choose PHOTOS there is a sort selection called FOLDERS. This selection is not available when looking at MOVIES. Sorts by Title, Year, Release Date, etc as the support page shows. But no folders. They removed it apparently.
Does that mean you were able to show your library by folders?
I cannot remember ever having seen an option to sort movies by folder.
You first have to switch to the “Library” tab.
Then you can select the “Movies” dropdown and set it to ‘Folders’ mode.
No. Folders only appears as an option in Photos and Music. Note there is no drop down selection for Movies. It has been changed in the recent version
