I have Plex Server up and running. On our Samsung Smart TV UN55F6400 I am using the Plex app available in the Samsung app section. While the app works there are some major differences with functionality when compared to Windows web access. My most annoying one is the lack of a sort or search feature when wanting to do so on fields other than movie name, notable actors name. Now I have to keeping scrolling to get to the name I want, I can not enter a partial name and have the list jump to that area. Furthermore the search feature seems to work on movie name only. I have been unable to get that to work of any other listed fields. Has anyone had similar problems or am I doing something wrong?
Sounds like are using the Smart Hub app. It is not an official Plex app - it was developed by community member Orca. It’s not going to look or act like the newer official Plex apps.
Thanks for the answer. I checked Samsung’s online site for apps and while they list 2 Plex apps that are compatible with my TV only one is listed using the TV’s Smart-hub Apps interface. I will be checking with Samsung about this.
