I’m currently in the process of rebuilding my libraries from scratch. One thing I have noticed … during the initial scan, the “Date Added” seems to match the file timestamps. In other words, while it’s importing, if I sort by “Date Added,” the items will show anything from “Last Week” to “xx months or years ago”.
If for whatever reason, the scan has to be cancelled, whenever I restart the scan, the remaining items are now scanned in and say “Seconds ago.” So it seems that after the initial scan is stopped, any additional scans no longer use the file timestamps.
So my questions are, (1) why are the scans not consistent, i.e. the first scan uses the file timestamp, and the other scans don’t? And (2) is there a way to have items scanned in using the file timestamp, even if it is not the initial scan? Or, as a secondary option, is there a way to change the imported date/time after the fact?
