In the previous version I would get a better quality version of a movie (4K) and overwrite the file on my NAS (same exact name), rescan the library and Plex would see that and update accordingly. Now with this version, Plex is not picking that up. I am forced to delete the movie. Rescan so that Plex no longer sees it. Copy the movie back over to the NAS. then Rescan the library. Is anyone else experiencing this issue since going to the new version?
After performing “Update Matching” of your movie library, you’ll have to execute ‘Refresh Metadata’.
Otherwise the existing movie will remain on its old matching, while the newly added version is matched with the new “identity”.
So, as the first step, perform “Refresh Metadata” on those movies which you are about to replace/upgrade.
Thanks I’ll give that a try on the next one.
So I did another one and refresh metadata did not do it… Had to do an Analyze on the same movie. The thing is, I just had to do a rescan in the previous version. So now you have to keep an eye on which movies you update and do them separately, or analyse the entire collection that takes a long time.
This is actually a bug in the new movie scanner and is already fixed and will be released with the next beta.
Great… Thanks for the response.
