I have a series set for recording. The Team on Ch4 on Friday nights and Homeland also on Ch4 on Sundays. In the case of The Team PMS recorded 2 episodes but not the third which was scheduled on 3rd March. In the case of Homeland PMS has recorded 2 episodes but has failed to add new episodes to the recording schedule for today - 5th March.
If I look at the recording schedule, both agenda and calendar view, there is nothing scheduled for Homeland. If however I look at program guide then Homeland is clearly showing as set for recording in the section “My Upcoming Shows”. BUT it doesn’t show in the section “New Episodes Tonight”. If I click on Homeland in “My Upcoming Shows” section I pull up a detail screen showing that recording is scheduled and having two sections at the bottom showing S6 E6 and E7 both with a record button greyed out. If I click on the record button then I get the Record Options screen. Having clicked Save on that screen I return to the detail screen but the record button is still greyed out.
I am having a similar problem, I’ve set a whole collection of things to record and I can see that episodes are being broadcast but none are being recorded, they don’t show in the scheduled recordings. So far the only things I can get to record are things that I set to record that are already being broadcast, that worked just fine. I’ve set some really common shows up that I know have lots of episodes airing such as property shows etc and so far nothing is scheduled.
I only setup DVR on Friday night but have yet to have it record any of the shows I’ve requested it to record.
Ok, so I have found what my problem was. I had selected “New Airings Only” thinking that it meant it would then only record things that I haven’t already got in my library. What that seems to mean is that it only records things that are new to being broadcast I guess, if I set it to record repeats as well then suddenly the schedule is populated with recordings, too many in fact with all my clicking around trying to figure this out, I have conflict chaos now!
Now, thats interesting! Whilst neither Homeland nor The Team have been previously broadcast, at least not in the UK AFAIK, changing the setting to record new and repeat airings does now show the recording scheduled correctly. The problem that will arise is that if a repeat airing clashes with something else to be recorded then will I loose the new recording or the repeat that I really didn’t want in the first place? I’d really appreciate some guidance from Plex.
I’ve been having the same issue with recordings. Only if I have the Plex app open on live TV when the show starts it works. I’m thinking it’s not waking up my computer to do the recording. I don’t have the experience to go through the logs and make any sense of them so…
Seems like Plex kind of passes the buck on support, instead of helping with issues they pass you on to these forums where we might get answers if we can understand half of the explanation.
