Screen off video play on Android app

Greetings! I update the apps on my phone and the Plex server software every week. It appears that the Plex Android app is not powerful enough to play a video with the screen off so I can just hear audio without draining battery life.

Is this correct? For reference, I own a Plex lifetime pass that I purchased 3 years ago.

Correct. Plex does not have that feature.
