Scripting support?

I have a RasPlex client in my bedroom that I had a dumb idea for this morning.

So, I'm really bad about getting up in the mornings, and I've got a script that runs on my computer in the mornings which opens the NPR live stream @ 0500 and gradually raises the volume over the next hour. I was thinking about possibly doing something similar with my RasPlex client, and opening some random media every morning (or I could hardcode something like a stream in. whatever). I figure as long as there's some sort of a CLI hook into the Plex client and the HDMI-CEC interface, it'd totally be possible. I haven't really investigated it yet, but it was a dumb that I thought may be worth looking into.

Does anyone know if you can open a media file in RasPlex via the CLI or if there is any sort of control mechanism for the player in the CLI? Like I said, I've yet to investigate it (away from the house right now), but I wanted ask first.
