Seagate Personal Cloud

Hello, I am a Plex Pass member, currently having issues with my Seagate Personal Cloud device. Suddenly I can only see my Plex content on my IOS devices. My MacBook and all Roku devices in my home all say they can’t connect to Plex Media server. Please contact me at your earliest convenience. Thanks in advance!

Can you access it via http://LocalIP:32400/web where LocalIP is the real IP of your NAS on your LAN ?

Thank you for your timely response. Safari can’t find the server localip. Plex media sever is stored on my Seagate Personal Cloud. My iPad and iPhone displays my library as fine as ever. I can’t seem to be able to get my MacBook or Roku devices to even find my Plex Media Server, much less connect to it. I no longer am able to directly access Plex Media Server since Seagate, in their infinite wisdom, no longer support their Personal Cloud product. I will tell you that this problem first presented itself about a week ago, when I had to replace my Apple router with a new router from Eero. Everything within my home network works flawlessly except for being able to see my Plex library on my laptop, Apple TV, and Roku devices. Seagate support has been no help at all, and I’m nearly at my wit’s end trying to resolve this. Any more suggestions would be most welcome. Again, thank you in advance.

Can you access the seagate interface itself to make sure the server is even running?

I’ve never used an Eero router. did you port forward manually in router?

Not anymore. Seagate has unwisely made the personal url for the Personal Cloud inoperable. That was the only means of managing files and apps on the device. I was looking for a way of connecting to Plex Media server through the Plex TV app, but I don’t see any means of doing that either. I have backups of all my media on a couple of portable drives, at least. I’m hoping I don’t have to buy another Cloud device from a different manufacturer, but that might be the only means I have of restoring everything to my satisfaction. I am stumped!

Did not manually port forward in new router. I assume that since the iPad and iPhone are communicating with the Plex Media Server that all my devices would communicate the same way.

That’s unfortunate and really odd. I’m going to ask our QA team if they have a device and if they are running into same issue.

if your server is signed in/claimed then you just sign into TV. your iOS devices might have some cached info which may be why they can still connect.

Thank you for investing your time in helping me fix this. I’ll look forward to hearing from you again when you can.

Ours seem to be working fine on Seagate firmware 4.3.19.7

Probably need to see the iOS logs and the Roku logs and we can compare how they are trying to connect.

I just wanted you to know that my issue has been resolved since I spoke with a member of tech support for my new Eero router.
