search by director, actor, writer ..

It would be wonderful if we could search by actor, director, writer, etc. Not just by title.

It’s been over three and a half years since this request. I still would like to see this happen. I used MyMovies prior to switching to Plex two years ago and it had actor searches long before that.

Can’t you?
Via Plex web… typing a name in the search box will search for titles, actors, directors, shows, groups… It also worked last time I checked via my Android TV client.
Also there’s still the option to use filtering (by actor, director…).

Or am I missing what you’re actually looking for?!
