search movie by actor

Hello,

 

There is a way in PMS, to :

- have information about actors for a movie / TV Show ?

- search by actor to retrieve all my movies with this actor ?

Click on your Movie library, then at top left of screen, click on the 'hamburger' icon (3 horizontal lines), then click on 'new filter' and select 'actor'. You then need to 'deselect all' and choose the actor you wish to search for and all movies with that actor will be listed.

As for actor information, that is rather limited I'm afraid, you will only see the list of actors starring in a movie. :(

How do you search for an actor in all the libraries at once?

Thanks for your reply. I was aware of that, but now I read my first question and I see it’s a bit incomplete.
I have multiple libraries and after searching for an actor I don’t get a full list of movies unless I go through each search result.
I made some print screens, they could speak clearer than I do :slight_smile:

With the newest software updates that now show movies the actor is in on remote shared servers is this being revisited?
Since Plex will now “automagically” include actor movies on remote plex servers I would think it would be easier to include movies/tv shows the actor is in from a (library on the) local server.
