Search specific datafields (e.g. Country of Origin) in Plex

Hi Guys,

I am pretty much at a loss here: I see that Plex is for example populating fields such as “Country” in my movie collection but I cannot seem to make any use of the metadata though it being there.

I would very much like to search for movies from specific countries (e.g. France or Germany) either through the search or filter options. Currently typing a country into the search box in the web app doesn’t deliver any correct results and the datafield is not included in the filter options.

Overall I would very much like to be able to run a search on a specific datafield instead of the generic search that goes all over the place. I like the Calibre solution for example where I can type “author:stephen king” and get all books where the author field is populated with “Stephen King”.

But maybe I am just missing something here and you guys can help.

Sorry. The main search feature doesn’t search every field currently.

However, you can run a custom filter which can use the country info, but this is limited to individual libraries.

Thanks, that at least helps a little bit for now.

Would be great though to see this being implemented into the main search feature.
