Selecting "Playlists" tab shows the same as selecting "Library" tab

Server Version#: 1.25.4.5487

Browser: Firefox 96.0.3 (64-bit)
OS: Windows 7 SP1

Under “Music”, when I select Library I see the list of albums in my library as expected. If I select Playlists it does not display my playlists but shows my library – exactly as if I’d selected “Library”.

Steps:

  1. Using MediaTag, I updated quite a bit of metadata on several albums all from the same artist.
  2. Opened Plex, went to “Music” and selected “Rescan library files”, then “Refresh metadata”.
  3. Found several of the albums didn’t pick up my changes and went into album metadata and updated it.
  4. Added all these albums to a new playlist. Clicked on “Playlists” and confirmed that the albums were all listed.
  5. But I noticed that one album was missing. I found that album and corrected the metadata for the artist. So I updated that, and then right-clicked the menu and added it to the same playlist as the others.
  6. Then I again clicked on “Playlists”. Now it was showing the exact same view as when I click “Library”. It shows all the albums not the playlists.

I refreshed the page; same issue.
Noting an update was available, I applied that. No change; same issue.
I closed the browser and re-opened it and opened Plex; same issue.
I cleared all cookies for plex, closed and re-opened the browser; same issue.
I restarted the computer and that made no difference; same issue.

Settings - Plex Web - ‘Show Advanced’ - Debug - “RESTORE DEFAULTS”

Thanks; that fixed it. I had not made any customization (so I expect I didn’t lose anything) but we’ll see. In any case, I don’t have a clue what caused this. It just appeared this way in the midst of a session. Seems like a defect?

The cause of this is still under investigation by the developers.
