Selection is really hard to see on Chromecast

Recently I bought a Chromecast with Google TV and the difference between selections is really hard to distinguish. Especially at a distance and/or a smaller screen. However a picture can tell more than a thousand words:

On my Shield there is some kind of zoom animation that seems to be absent on my Chromecast with Google TV (HD).

It would be great if this can be fixed.
