I’ve been through the settings and various different forum searches but I seem to have not found anything in this direction.
I was wondering whether it would be possible to have a “selective” library auto-update feature, where I can select which library needs to be part of the auto-update and which doesn’t. For example, lets say I have a mobile video and a movie folder, when I rip a movie from a bluray/dvd into that folder I’d like to do some post-processing before it can be added to the library whereas in the mobile video folder I don’t want to do anything, so I’d like the mobile folder to be auto-refreshed but not the movie folder.
Once the postprocessing is done I’d send an auto update request via the API to Plex which will then add the missing video file.
Maybe this is already possible, but I cannot see a setting anywhere.
If you have automated the process using scripts, you can use the command line functionality of the plex media scanner in the script to accomplish this. Below is the information about calling the scanner via command line:
I would like to be able to exclude libraries from the auto-update as well. I have a very large music library, which takes a very long time to update. Since all of my media is on an NAS server, I have to use the option to update my library every X minutes instead of allowing it to update when it sees changes.
However every time it updates, it cycles the music for a very very long time (my music library very rarely changes), and doesn’t get to the TV and Movies folders until the next update has already started (30 minutes later). I would like to exclude the music library from the scheduled updates due to this.
I would love to be able to select the libraries I have set to auto-update.
If this could be a feature I would be very happy because my music library takes hours to update even though I rarely add anything to it, so I end up having to manually update TV Shows multiple times per each evening.
I really would like to be able to manage my library updates from the web app instead of having to edit scripts via ssh anytime I might want to change something; it’s just so much easier to select settings with a gui
