Update library - ignore music folders

I’m testing Plex’s music services with Sonos and I would like to know if there is a way to ignore the scanning of my music folder (which is big) when i want to add some video content to the Plex library? Thanks.

Yes. Make sure to turn off server settings that might update music as a scheduled task (e.g., Update all libraries during maintenance). And, then, only update the libraries individually: enter a library in Plex/Web and click the Update Library icon in the upper-right corner. Only that library will be refreshed.

Thanks, that could work… But, if I’m using some automated script that updates my tv shows daily and I need to use the “update my library periodically” tab, that would negate this.

If you use an automated script to update, just set it to target single library sections. If you “need” to update your library automatically, I’m not sure what to tell you. Maybe somebody else will pop in with a suggestion…

Hey thanks for the reply. I found in the advance tab that you can exclude the music library on a linux server (lucky me), mix this with partial scan and it should be cool.
