Server not available on Xbox One. I feel like I've tried everything.

Something in that file is causing the transcoder to fail. Any chance you can run it through mediainfo and post the info?

To help isolate the issue, shut down the Plex server, then restart it and wait a couple of minutes. Next, use a client to start playing back a file that causes the error. After the error happens, wait two minutes, then close the client and the server, and attach the new log file.

Ok, attached is the log.

That log has the same errors:

Feb 16, 2016 16:49:03:898 [8260] ERROR - Couldn’t find the file to stream: G:\TV\The Newsroom\The Newsroom (2012) - 2x03 - Willie Pete.en.srt

That is strange because I never had subtitle files for this series. Should I try to download them from OpenSubtitles, pop them in and see what happens?

93 FPS? That doesn’t seem right. Is that the same in your other Newsroom episodes?

Forget it, disregard. That’s audio not video.

@chrissaunders666, I don’t know. I’d compare this file with another from your collection of Newsroom files to see if there are any differences.

Looks like the problem is solved, I took what @jmckee said about an error with subtitles into account and I ended up hopping over to Open Subtitles, downloaded and dropped them in the folder, refreshed everything and boom, fired up just fine.

But what really confuses me is that I had never had any subtitles for this particular series since I really don’t bother with subs at all. So why it thought I had them and they were missing is beyond me.

I honestly wish Plex could give more specific error messages so that things like this could get nipped in the bud.

Big thanks for your help with all of this!

It’s pretty strange, but glad you were able to get it sorted out.

That definitely is in the works, the problem is how many error messages there can be versus how many they can get in the app. Things like the transcoder failing should give an unable to play this file message, but that still doesn’t really help narrow it down at all. So it’s a tricky thing for the developers about how to relay the information from the server in a way that still makes it somewhat useful. (And some things the server changes before the app is updated so they just don’t make it in, which doesn’t help at all either)

Are you sure you’re not mixing GB and TB?
80 GB free space is NOTHING for media, especially the transcode directory.
Are you sure you don’t mean a 2.5TB 1 hour long tv episode?

I am positive. I have 3 drives where I store my media, one has 81.9 gigs of free space, one has 50.7 gigs free and the third has 719 gigs free. The video file I am trying to play is 2.64 gigs. 2.5 terrabytes is insanely large for a 1 hour long TV episode. I’ve never heard of any singular episode of a television program being even remotely that large.

Sorry for making you waste time writing a reply. I don’t know what I was thinking when I wrote that.
2.5TB TV Episode or Movie would be insane. “I just purchased a new 8TB drive and stored 3 TV shows”
