I have spent the entire evening putting together two different webhook solutions for Plex (node.js, .py script) but have come to realize that Plex simply isn’t firing the events promised in this article:

What I’m specifically interested in is the device.new event.
I can confirm media type events fires and as server owner I expected the Server Owner type events aswell but I have not been able to get Plex to trigger such an event.
Is t here any additional setup required in order for these events to fire that I’m unaware of?
The documentation and reported malfunction of certain webhook events go back years. Are you deprecating this feature altogether? If so I must insist on being professional enough to not let it silently fail while the option is still available among the settings.
Lastly I’d like your help to resolve my situation in which I need to trigger custom code whenever a user accesses the server via one of the many Plex clients. Have I struck a particular bug? Is there a workaround? Have I overlooked something?
