Server settings are unavailable

I’ve been having this issue since I had first noticed an episode not updating the metadata. Since it wasn’t working I was going to unmatch / match to see if that would fix. I unmatched but when I go to match, there aren’t any options to search whatsoever. I had originally thought this was an isolated issue so I came here to write about it and when I went to get my server version from the settings menu. None of my settings are working and instead I’m being told server settings are unavailable. I’ve tried closing the media server out and re-opening with no luck. Have tried to repair with no luck and then I had uninstalled and reinstalled the media server and the issue is still there. My media is still working currently but I can’t make any changes whatsoever right now. Anyone have some possible ideas on what might be happening?

Search the forums, there is a long thread about it. It is a ridiculous problem that has been there in the latest 3 or 4 versions. Unbelievable.

Shut down and restart your server please.
If that doesn’t help, wait an hour then try again.

Hi there Otto,

So I’ve shut down and restarted my server. No luck.

I’ve followed the article you sent. It won’t let me claim my server now.

Will restore the registry so I can at least use my server but I’m still getting the “server settings are unavailable” issue.

An update. I tried to roll back to a previous version of plex because this felt like it had started just after my last update but that didn’t seem to do the trick. Continuing to look for a solution.

So… another update. I was going to try a solution listed in another thread when all of a sudden… Things are just working again. I have to wonder if it was something on my end or on the plex side. At least things are working again.

Welp… Another issue has arisen. My settings are back to normal but when I go to make changes Plex tells me the changes could not be saved. Not sure what to do to fix things… :frowning:
