I recently updated Plex (using the browser app on my Windows desktop computer) through the Settings icon from version 4.48.1. Everything broke after that. So I reverted back to 4.48.1. I now cannot access any of the settings. I receive the infamous "Server settings are unavailable"
I have tried the “Why am I locked out of the Server” to no avail. I have tried what others have recommended in the forum and so far I am not successful. I am not a programmer or developer.
I found the log within the Plex Media Server folder. It’s attached. (File removed)
In addition, see attached screenshot Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Plex, Inc.\Plex Media Server". There is no LocalAppDataPath. I didn’t move it or mess around with anything except to add content.
I’m running Windows 10, 64 bit. The computer is about a year old. The version of Plex I’m running is 4.48.1. I had to roll back to 4.48.1 because I started experiencing issues on my computer outside of Plex (certain programs were not launching, i.e., Word, Powerpoint). The only difference was the Plex update. Once I reverted back, my other programs were working fine.
I have been able to watch content on my TVs and other devices.
Hi Dan, thank you for your patience. I do have the Plex installed on my desktop. See attached. I know there is an update but I had to revert back because after the update, other things didn’t work on my computer. I also logged out of the public IP via the web per nydave69 suggestion.
When I attempted to log in directly to the server, I received the following message “Hmmm…can’t reach this page”
Sorry if this is human error. Do you recommend I uninstall and reinstall Plex from scratch? If so, will I lose my library?
The IP address you posted is NOT the address of your local Plex server, it’s your external Cox Internet address. You should remove this pic. It tells people where you live, kinda.
Local (LAN) addresses should be something like 192.168.###.###. That’s why I suggested 127.0.0.1:32400/web also try localhost:32400/web
So, what happens if you click on the gear icon in the top right?
If you’re not going to update click on Skip this version.
The server versions are circled in blue. Not the 4.xx.xx that you are seeing.
So, what happens if you click on the gear icon in the top right? I’m able to get into that page; however, anything under Settings I don’t have access to. Server settings are unavailable.
If you’re not going to update click on Skip this version. I skipped this version for now.

Local (LAN) addresses should be something like 192.168.###.### - I ran an ipconfig and found the local lan address.
I tried both 127.0.0.1:32400/web and localhost:32400/web and I received 404 errors.
Looks like I have something really messed up somewhere. Everything seemed to be working okay. Once I updated the server, these issues appeared. I reverted back to the previous version but the issues still exist. Again, thanks so much for your help and patience!
