Server Version#: 1.32.6.7557
For some reason my server has been shutting down and has to be restarted every morning (again). Not the computer, I run Jellyfin & Kavita on the same server and they’re fine everyday, just Plex.
This started happening with update version# 1.32.6.7468 and stopped when I uploaded version #1.32.5.7516 manually but then update 1.32.6.7557 was pushed to the server so I updated.
I’ve seen weird things like 3 notifications on my phone saying the backup was successful in one morning. But the server was not running when I go to uses it on my commute. My wife has been watching a show and boom at midnight (when I have the scheduled tasks set to run) the server shuts down.
So to test to see if it was the Scheduled Backup causing it, I changed the hours to 04:00am to 08:00am and it was fine (running and working as usual) when I got up at 02:30am this morning then while on the road I tried to access it at 04:10am this morning and it was showing as offline. Came home after work (2pm) and it is shutdown and has to be restarted.
I’ve now turned off any Scheduled Tasks that say “every 3 days” to test further, but I’m still aggravated that it started happening (w/ version# 1.32.6.7468) after 5 years of running smoothly then seemed fine after manual update then starts happening again.
Any ideas? I will be happy to provide logs (if someone is actually going to look at them) because I don’t see anything showing a shutdown or critical error.
Thanks @dbirch I didn’t see that when I looked through them. Sorry for the late reply work has been brutal for the last few days.
So when this has been happening, it has been while my wife is either watching a TV Show (when scheduled task were set to 12am) or when we listen to audiobooks while we sleep (during the same time and, as you can see in the log above, when the task time was changed to 4am). The Tv Shows was being watched on a Roku TV, I use Chronicle on a android Wi-Fi only phone for my audiobooks and my wife uses PlexAmp for Android for hers, if that makes a difference.
Like I said in the OP this has never happened before version# 1.32.6.7468 and wasn’t happening with version #1.32.5.7516 (that I observed) and now is happening with version# 1.32.6.7557 all over again.
It happened again last night and the only thing I left checked for tasks was
Refresh library metadata periodically
Remove old cache files every week
Optimize database every week
So now the only thing checked is Remove old cache files every week.
I’m going to test again tonight with the audiobooks.
