my plex server is unreachable under lan

via plex tv for Android tv

I don’t know what changed, until two weeks ago no problem
now hell is loose and the server is always checked as offline or unreachable
I’ve checked all I could checked
-older versions of the plex server
-sign in sign out from plex
-remove all and install again
-change the dhcp from manual to automatic to manual again
always no connection
until I’ve discovered that the app on the phone find the server only when the wifi is disabled
until the phone is on the home network doesn’t find no server
but when is disconnected from the home network, then it finds the server via remote access (I even bought the monthly plex pass to check for this)
Did you make any changes to your network recently? Add a new router? Upgrade firmware or change settings on your existing one?
What does your network topology look like? Is your Plex Media Server using a wired connection? Are all your clients wireless? If not, does this affect the wired clients as well?
There are several reasons why you could be seeing the behavior you are. The two most likely are DNS rebinding protection and wireless client isolation.
If the problem is DNS rebinding protection, you can work around it in a couple of ways: You can have your clients use public DNS provider or you can add an exception to your router’s DNS server for *.plex.direct. Both methods are described here:
If the problem is with wireless client isolation, you may be able to disable it for your wireless network in your router’s wireless settings. Where the setting lives on the router and what it’s named vary by vendor; it’s usually in the advanced wireless settings and may be called “AP Isolation.” Or something similar.
As I said, there could be other causes (clients and server on different networks with no route between them, for example), but these two are fairly common.
-modem/router dlink dva 5592 (from my ip provider)
-plex server run on a windows computer wired to the router
-plex clients (android tv xiaomi mibox s, android phone, ipad) run all on wifi
no new hardware, no firmware upgrade
the same configuration has run for, i don’t know… more then a year i think
a while ago i did some changes
switched from a "only one wifi network with band steering on " to a “two separate wifi network”
worked just fine until 10 days ago
when the problem presented itself for the first time
“server is unreachable” “server is offline”
did a sign out on all plex app, restarted everything… and online again
then two days ago server unreachable again
nothing worked so far
but, this time i’ve discovered that the server is perfectly visible and reachable when i use a remote connection
