Sessions not being removed from dashboard

I’m having an issue where at 2:37AM i have 9 active streams, 8 of them are paused and I never have anyone active at this hour, some of them are stuck on paused.

I’ve noticed this happening throughout the day and usually restarting Plex removes the sessions. Its happened 3 times now, so I believe for whatever reason when they have finished their playbacks the server isn’t releasing their sessions from the dashboard.

Is there anything that could be causing this to happen? I can’t even stop playback as the admin, they just remain there.

I’ve noticed this with the 'Plex Experience" player on my AppleTV, but not a problem with the current player.

See if you’re affected by this: Library.db size more than doubled in latest version

My database has remained at a similar size to what it usually is.

Worth mentioning that when it does happen the server also doesn’t honour the “Pause duration” setting which for me is set to 15 minutes. I think this is because the client at the other end isn’t actually connected and its probably a plex dashboard bug on the WEBUI..

Not sure what you mean by this. What kind of Pause is that? Is that a setting in Plex?

Yes, its this one.

This setting is just a thing for misbehaving users and client devices.
Don’t get into the habit of pausing playback indefinitely.
Particularly on the web app and the Plex for Desktop app, always use the :stop_button: to fully close the player controls. The server will store the playback position for you anyway (as long as you haven’t played more than 90%).
Reason for this is that even paused playbacks will keep the playback session alive on the server and taking up resources.
