Set Track Rating in one Album sets it in other Album(s)

I scripted importing ratings of my music from Apple Music to Plex and I noticed something unexpected.

One band, two albums, same track … “ACDC”, “Live”, and a “Best Of”, Song “Back in Black”

I would think I could set rating of the song to 2 in “Live” to and “4” in Best Of", but it actually sets both two 2 and then both to 4. Somehow Plex is trying to be smart and set all occurances of the song to the same value. (even though they have different ids)

While this accounting errors isn’t the end of the world. The problem arises when I want a playlist of “all rated tracks”.

Some artists have a lot of redundant songs in their catalogs, this over inflates the playlist with many of the same songs.

Is there a way to disabled this feature? I assume this is coming from gracenote?
