I set the Plex DVR up with a HDHomerun2 and it works awesome, tonight I had 2 shows set to record, Blacklist which started at 8pm and Speechless which began at 8:30, when Speechless started recording Blacklist stopped recording. So do I need to add the Homerun a second time to see the second tuner? Not sure whats going on and I haven’t been able to find an answer here, anyone have any ideas?
Can you screenshot your recording schedule showing the missing or errored recording? Also, mine brainfarts sometimes and doesn’t get back to back items for no explainable reason.
I’d have to catch it when it’s actually happening to see anything, basically it was showing one with the little recording progress icon next to it and the other that was suppose to be recording with a play icon next to it. This was the first time I had 2 shows recording together so I’ll set up some more double recordings and see if it wasn’t just a hiccup.
Screenshots and logs would possibly help. I have 2 Connects and an Extend in my Plex setup and have no issues recording 6 shows at the same time. What Plex Media Server version are you running? Are you viewing Live TV when these recording issues are happening?
I’m using Version 3.23.1, I have my cable split to the HDHomerun and TV so I can use the tuner in the TV to watch live TV so that shouldn’t have any bearing on the problem, the recording didn’t error it just stopped when the other recording started like it was using the same tuner.
Which logs would be helpful there are a bunch!!
3.23.1 is the Web Server Version. Need to go to the Server link in Settings to see the Plex Media Server version.
All of the logs would be best. Go to Settings/Server/Help and click the download link. Upload the zip file to this thread. Please include information about what shows are times shows start/end. More than likely your logs will not show issues from last night. Will need to replicate the issue you are having and then immediately grab the logs after the issue.
It is server version 1.9.4.4325, I downloaded the logs yesterday but they didn’t go back far enough so I’ll try to duplicate the problem this weekend if I get a minute.
I wold also suggest updating to 1.9.5 so that you are running the latest version when you try to duplicate the problem.
I was just checking all the recordings for the past few days and about 90% of them are screwed up in one way or another, some only recorded part of the show, some are unplayable, some are time shifted. Anyway I’m upgrading the server, don’t know why the server says it’s up to date but I downloaded it from Plex, I’ll mess with it this weekend but if it’s still this screwed up I’m moving on, just want a semi simple solution and this looked like it was perfect since I already had all the hardware in place.
Let me know the results of your test. Since we haven’t really had a chance to look at what is happening it would be nice to see the logs. Can you also provide a screenshot of the HDHR information. You can get this by going to my.hdhomerun.com.
I’ve got a bunch of random recordings going right now so hopefully I get some duplication here is the homer info
Ok I did some recording and had some issues I thought one of the shows was an hour but wasn’t so I’m going to try that again but one show failed to transcode on this go round, logs attached
Ok, now logs are attached
Ok I started recording a soccer game and set the news to start while the game was on and was waiting to see what happened, when the news didn’t start recording I went to refresh the screen on the server and it’s a locked up with the ole spinning beach ball, force quit and now I can’t access it remotely, arg!!
