Setting up libraries

I have an Nvidea shield and want to use my Linux machine as the server. I have installed Plex Media on it ok and can see my other Plex Servers. On my Linux Machine everything went fine until it came to the part of installing my libraries. I want to use a internal 4tb drive, location is /media/muffy on a volume WD-NTFS. I have two folders on it called Films and TV Shows but can’t set them up as my libraries via my Plex Server, this is what I get.

So when I look into libraries I get this.

I have been told that I have to give Plex permission to use the directories but do not know how to do this in Linux. I am using Linux Mint 21. I’d really appreciate any help in this area. TIA.

You have this backwards. The directories and files must have permissions on them such that Plex can read them. This is guaranteed to be a problem when you you use /media for this purpose on Linux Mint.

looked at this and it left me totally bemused. I have very little knowledge of this terminal commands and just could not understand what I was supposed to be doing. Seems like I am not knowledgeable enough to manage this.
