I’ve got Plex running on a Raspberry Pi 3 and streaming content from a NAS to Plex clients without issue. We got an HDHomeRun and have that connected to Plex (were able to scan for channels, see the guide, etc) but when we try to watch live tv or record anything, it’s unwatchable because it’s very laggy. Is this config supposed to work? If so, are there settings I should be using on Plex or the HDHomeRun or both that will make this work better?
At a guess, the Raspberry Pi is horribly underpowered to play mpeg2 content to just about any client (it’s probably trying to transcode the TV format to an acceptable format for whatever client you’re trying to view on). You might have better look with an HDHomeRun Extend which, if I recall correctly, will do the transcoding instead.
