I have both… doesn’t show in any of my users, managed home or friends…
the only one I really wanted to setup was my own…
I don’t like using the admin user for anything but administrative uses.
That’s why no one here uses the DVR function, since they cannot schedule their own shows and I wont do it for them.
for testing purposes I have another Plex DVR server setup to record every movie on one specific channel, that one is running Version 1.9.7.4460… only version that works reliably for recording.
Is it on the roadmap for Friends to have access to this feature?
I have a cousin in Afghanistan on humanitarian work and he would love to access. I don’t want to give full access to server. Is that what managed user or family do?

I just changed to Beta channel and will hopefully receive the update at some stage. Looking at the release announcements page I can’t see mention of the feature under 1.11.x releases? Am I missing something?
@Trial_Master you should also be able to click the Check for Updates link after you switched to the Beta channel. You can also manually update by going to plex.tv/downloads. I personally always manually update. I do not recall any discussions on whether Friends will be allowed access to Live TV.
Hi. This works when users login from the web but my Apple TV box only shows the Live TV option if I sign in with the main account user. When will it show from Apple TV?

I have an Apple TV 4th Gen (not 4K) and all of my home users are able to see/play Live TV. If you don’t have auto update on your Plex app in Apple TV, it may not be up to date?
I prefer to give the option (default desactivate with warning) and not remote it for all
