Hello, I am sharing movies with friends on my plex server. I do this by adding their accounts to my friends group. The question is whether such a user is only able to play / download files. Or for any access to the server configuration (including file deletion if it is enabled in the library settings)?
They can only see your media. Nobody will be able to change the configuration of your server or your media.
So I understand that the option in the settings that allows the deletion of files allows only the account described as Administrator?
That’s correct.
There’s a relatively long-standing feature suggestion to allow users within your home to delete stuff or act as admin too – however that hasn’t gotten much attention from the community yet.
