Sharing downloaded content between devices

I am trying to share my downloaded content from one device (Samsung S20 Ultra) to another (Samsung S8+). I have enabled the settings for advertising as server on the S20. I have them on the same WiFi network (tested both through a router and through hotspot on the S20). The devices do see each other when advertising as server is enabled on both, but they always have the “OFFLINE” status.
I do have the Lifetime Plex pass, and I have enabled downloads on the server (I have downloaded content to the S20).
First of all, is this even possible? I see only mentions of this working with Sync, the old implementation of Downloads. Is the new functionality not integrated yet?
Am I missing something in the setup? Is there something specific about Samsung that is causing the issue? In the few places I find examples, they always use Apple products.
I hope someone has tried this and has guidance on how to achieve it.
Thanks in advance!

Advertise as server" is not working anymore.
A server nowadays requires a domain name and a certificate (to enable secure connections).
Plex clients (like the Android mobile app) don’t get that. Particularly with them changing location and networks all the time and often having no network connectivity at all.

Thank you for the quick reply! Too bad this is no longer possible. I’ll have to think of another solution then.

Why is this option still available/selectable when it is not working anymore?
I wasted several hours trying to get it to work until I found this thread… That’s not what I would call a good user experience
