I am a basic plex user.
I would like to know if it is possible to share individual photo albums with other non plex users, like I am able on one drive.
Is this feature available at all or only to plex pass users?

This is unfortunately not possible.
Every user needs to have a Plex account.
Plex Pass doesn’t make a difference in this regard.

Thank you for your reply. What a pity this is and a missed opportunity to share photos with people who might not know what plex is, thus publicizing this media app. Imagine how many people would come in contact with plex. If there is any tech guy out there who is reading this, may you consider it a feature request.

Even with a plex account this is not possible right now…need to address that issue!!!

Yes, please - absolutely necessary. I have a Plexpass for life and I am really disappointed how much basic functionality actually does not work:
- share Photo-Album
- determine length of slideshows
- chose the path for synchronized media on android (so I can listen, watch with my player of choice !)
I really do like Plex but I bought it mainly for Photos and syncronizing stuff (at home, I use Kodi) - but unfortunately really basic functionality is missing

Yes, sharing a Photo album (by link, user, or other option) is definitely my highest request since it would allow me to remove the need to use other photo apps/solutions. I’d even take being able to apply a “Label” to an album so I could restrict sharing albums to Labels (instead of a whole Library).
It would make sharing baby pictures to family much easier instead of setting up a dedicated Library and copying photos to it since sharing only seems to be at the individual Library level…

Seconded. Having to export photo albums to cloud providers to allow for sharing defies one of the basic principles of Plex namely to keep my data strictly hosted on my own hardware…
It would be very valuable to have precise photo sharing capabilities built right into Plex instead of forcing users into cumbersome “solutions”.
As for a business aspect of adding proper photo sharing, I would agree with @marinelli that this is a tremendous opportunity to publicize Plex through the most trusted advertisement channels that exist out there: friends and family…

One of the biggest disappointments in Plex Pass is the Pictures and how it works. No sharing or albums whatsoever with anyone, and importing all pictures to ONE folder without considering folder file limitations, instead of breaking it up in folders based on date or something user configurable. Really disappointed!
I really thought that this individual sharing feature is exactly that what is promoted in the marketing material of plex.
Its a pitty that i need to nest the sharing stuff between plex and nextcloud to achieve that.
This should absolutely be on the priority list in the TOP10

Suggest voting for this in the feature suggestion category if you have not already. "Share Movie" Link for People without MyPlex Accounts with optional expiration date
(i know it just says movies but we are unlikely to do that for one type of library and not another)
