I have moved all my photos to a Plex photo library and it’s working great.
I have some short videos (1, 1½ minute) in between some pictures in mp4 format.
I can play the videos from Timeline, no problem, but when trying to play them from the Library view, where they are among the pictures, I get an error message: “Couldn’t retrieve the play queue for this item. Please try again”.
Any idea what’s causing this?
Another thing, I remember reading somewhere that Plex Photo Libraries would be discontinued. Hope this is not the case.
I’m not sure what to do about the error, other than to Scan Library Files again, and maybe the ‘Analyze’ command. Weird that it will play from Timeline, but not Library.
I’ve seen nothing about photo libraries being discontinued. Just the opposite, actually. I think they may be working on improvements.
They did discontinue the Camera Upload feature a couple months ago. Might that be what you saw?
Strange error, indeed. I’ve scanned the Photo Library several times, mainly due to strange dates in Timeline (year 2036, etc.). So I’ve edited some pictures and added the right Date Taken and Date Created, and scanned again. It helped a bit with Timeline though not all, but not with the video issue.
It may have been this, I read. Doesn’t bother me. I don’t use it.
Glad the Photo Libraries are not going away. I’m really liking this feature.
