Hi Plexers,
A suggestion. Would love to see Plexamp in Shortcuts for iOS. I’d like to be able to create a shortcut to play a playlist on a specific device (Sonos speaker), via a simple command.

More integrations into iOS

In the Shortcuts app: Gallery > Your Apps > Plexamp > Show All

Currently available:

  • Love current track
  • Hate current track
  • Play all downloaded tracks
  • Play library radio

Sorry for not being clear. I meant actions, not gallery items. I’d like to be able to make my own shortcuts.

Same here! Would love to see more plex and plexamp intergration into shortcuts app on iOS. I want to be able to create a shortcut that will automatically launchplexamp and start shuffling through a playlist of my choice by using my voice.

Hi,

I guess Siri Shortcuts have been discussed for a while, but does anybody know if it is possible (and how) to turn Siri voice commands into a shortcut?

I’d like to play different playlists in different context using automation.

Throwing my voice behind this, even if it is years later

The one we really need is “Resume playing”

What this should do is to allow us to reliably get in our cars, connect to bluetooth which will kick off this shortcut and it will start plexamp, and then play.

Right now if you have say youtube up but not playing and you do a 2 step process of:

  1. start app
  2. Play

It will more often than not just play the youtube video. And no amount of delay will change that.

Especially if you have it fire up waze after that as an example.

I don’t believe the Shortcuts app: Gallery > Your Apps > Plexamp > Show All

Feature is available in iOS 18, but please correct me if I’m wrong.

I would really like to be able to play, pause, shuffle, play a certain track/artist/playlist/album/etc.

Gallery looks very different. At least I can’t seem to find any Plexamp actions.

Ya, there are no PlexAmp actions at all showing on iOS 18 nor 26 Beta 8. (The app isn’t even in the list of apps)

Big upvote for this feature request. Specifically the ability to play a specific track from an iOS shortcut would be amazing.

I used to have an automation that would automatically connect to my cars Bluetooth and start playback in Plexamp. It is no longer working and there are no Plexamp shortcuts anywhere. Did I imagine shortcuts support?

I did some digging and it seems there were/are basic automation actions (at least on iOS) but they seem to have stopped working as of one of the more recent versions of iOS. More specifically, the actions themselves no longer show up in the Shortcuts app in newer versions of iOS.

I did confirm it works on iOS 15, and does not work on iOS 18+, but I’m not sure about 16 or 17.

I just today tried to set up a automation shortcut in iOS. There are no options for actions with plexamp. iOS version: 26.1 (23B85) Plexamp version: 4.12.4.
