Would it be possible to add Hey Siri support into the Plexamp iOS app? Would be super handy to say “Hey Siri, play my 80s playlist in Plexamp”
There’s some support already, check the suggestions. After you play an artist radio e.g. you can ask for it by name. Also love/hating tracks. Adding playlists is a good idea
Elan, I have an issue with the Love/Hate shortcuts. They work as expected if launched from within the iOS Shortcuts app with a button tap, but not if launched with a Siri voice command: Siri will open PlexAmp but not assign the rating.
Is this a PlexAmp or iOS issue?
I run iOS 13.5.1 and PlexAmp 3.1.1.
Hmm, not sure. It worked for me, anyone else having issues?
This would be super handy. I often wish while driving that I could just ask Siri to play either artist or song from my library.
Love Plexamp. The most used music app on iPhone AND CarPlay. Just did a “Hey Siri, play my “short pieces” playlist on Plexamp.” The response was “Plexamp hasn’t added support for that feature.” PS: The playlist “short pieces” does exist.
yeah, so sorry but apple doesn’t make this sort of thing easy. it only recently became possible iirc (iOS 13 of 14?), and it would take a fair bit of work the last time i looked.
the shortcuts are sort of the “poor man’s” version of this, more like macros.
Hi perhaps some sort out Url scheme eg to load a playlist then we can use this to make a shortcut ourselves?
Would this be easier than setting up full Siri support?
Spotify has something similar and also has play via Siri voice to choose a certain artist or playlist, so its possible.
I’m getting greedy here but here’s another request …
Some keyboard short cuts would be great eg search, shuffle, navigate tabs, see related
I think the key is whenever you play a playlist to offer it as a Siri suggestion and that way you can add it via shortcut (we do that now with Artist Radio e.g.)
So just to confirm is that possible now or for the future?
artist radios works now. playlists in the future.
