Hi everyone,
let’s start with a description of the current state and need from my perspective to my best knowledge:
I have many movies and series in one of two languages (German and English), and many more in both. Of the latter group, I sometimes have one file with both languages, but mostly, it is two different video files.
Now what I would love is to easily see which movies are available to me in which languages (ideally, but not necessarily, already in the overview, e.g. by small flags) and be able to filter for languages spoken by those I want to watch a movie with.
To be precise, in the app there would be one list of all movies and each movie would appear only once, regardless of how many languages are available in how many files, and it is easy to check individual movies (or shows/…) for the languages they are available in, ideally in overview via small icons . Also, it is possible via filters to show only those movies available in one specific language.
I think that might be helpful for a lot of people and as far as I know, this is currently not possible.
Or am I wrong and there already is a way?
Looking at the last updates especially, is it possible already or maybe in the near future to use one of the multiple editions or multi-versions feature for movies/shows that exist in several languages?
Personally I currently have a halfway usable workaround using different libraries for each language (and one for dual language files), but that’s a hassle to begin with and it makes it a multi-step process each time I want to get an overview which movies are available in total.
Maybe it’s all unnecessary?
Thanks to all who work for the great performance and updates of Plex!
Regards
Jo
