Show "More Ways to Watch" for Anime Content in my Libraries

Currently, “More Ways to Watch” appears only if content would not exist within one of your Media Libraries or if you would deselect “Media Libraries” when performing a search for it. I would like there to be a toggle setting which forces “More Ways to Watch” to appear every time, even for your own preexisting content.

Say you have Movie X in 720p, but under “More Ways to Watch” you see it is available on Hulu in 4K and you are, of course, a Hulu subscriber. Needless to say, I would likely prefer to see it on the latter service.

EDIT- It seems this would be true for movies and shows, but would not be true for anime content. So I suppose this feature request would be specific to that (and/or any other type of content which would be missing “More Ways to Watch”).

I see it on every preplay page – if the title is actually available on any of personal Plex servers shared with me, or if it is available on a video streaming service.
If you have selected one or several preferred streaming services in your Plex account, it will show availability on your preferred services openly, and will only reveal other sevices upon an additional click.
Important for these features are the settings on this page in your account preferences: (scroll down) https://app.plex.tv/desktop/#!/settings/online-media-sources

(keep in mind: if it’s set to “Disabled for managed users” it means that it is still active for yourself)

Or did you mean this suggestion explicitly when using the Search feature in Plex?

Sorry, I was only looking at anime content at the time I created this so I initially believed this issue to apply to all types of content, but it would seem to be specific to anime alone (hence the edit to the feature suggestion title).

There is no content type of “Anime” in Plex.
You have either “Movies” or “TV Shows”.
Most Anime series belong to the latter category.

Right, it’s a “TV Shows” library containing only anime content and none of the content there shows “More Ways to Watch” unlike, for instance, my separate “TV Shows” library for non-anime shows.

Which agent are you using for that anime library?
For „More Ways to Watch“ to work, you’ll probably need the shows to be matched using the Plex TV Series agent.

While it is indeed rarer to find many sources for Anime, they do exist.
Keep in mind that you need to be on the preplay page of either the full show, or of one particlar episode. It won’t work on Season pages.

That’s what it was. I was sure I was already using the Plex TV Series agent, but I do remember having some issues with this particular library awhile back and I guess I ended up switching to another agent for whatever specific reason. Changing back to it fixed this.

Appreciate the help!

Appreciate the effort to help. Didn’t realize I had switched away from using the Plex TV Series agent, so now it’s no longer an issue.
